Placed 9th out of 17,000 globally on Waterloo's Fermat math competition. Same year, accepted as one of six international applicants to the Centre for Opera Studies in Italy, auditioning with Scarlatti.

Got Edward Snowden to give a live keynote from Moscow at high school — watched by over 11,000 people live. Glenn Greenwald also participated. Admitted to Harvard and Stanford.

Founded the Harvard College Open Campus Initiative, a free-speech advocacy group. Advised by former Dean Harry R. Lewis '68, hosted speakers including Jordan Peterson and Steven Pinker.

Ran for Harvard Undergraduate Council President under the "Fix Harvard" banner. Lost — but the thesis proved prescient: students later voted 76% to 24% to dissolve the council entirely, after it sank to a 9% approval rating.

Testified as an expert witness in a genocide proceeding before an international tribunal chaired by the lead prosecutor from the Milošević war crimes trial. Gave self a crash course in biomedical optics to serve as lead author on a peer-reviewed paper — prompting FDA enforcement against five companies.

Flew to Kyrgyzstan and personally organized the extraction of a Xinjiang detention camp survivor and his family to the United States.
